Never thought I’d let a rumor ruin my moonlight..
I’m in love with you,” he said quietly.
"Augustus," I said.
"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”❞— John Green, The Fault in Our Stars (via mendinqs)

For the past years, I have never intentionally listened to any song by The Killers aside from Mr. Brightside. So I started listening to them a couple of days ago for the sake of exploring beyond their trademark song. Guess what? They. are. awesome. They are writing literature here, people - not some kind of narration about crying after a break up or hitting on some shorty with a nice ass.
I really appreciate the fact that they write songs inspired from real emotions - way more substantial than songs about being in love for two days. Their songs hold so much meaning. The lyrics are far from literal and very complicated, yet still engaging and no hint of trying too hard at all. Most of their songs left my mind intrigued and stimulated in a good kind of way, not the usual chill and happy vibe, and nothing else. I also like easy-listening songs at times, but I would definitely miss out on so much without listening to this kind of music.
The video contains their live performance of A Dustland Fairytale (omg yes LIVE). Definitely as good, if not better, than the recording. (And the orchestra was perfect!) Play it. Trust me, you’d never want to hear any pop song on the radio again. Someday, if science finds out that music can either kill or restore brain cells depending on the song you’re listening to, then you can thank me later.
P.S. Good songs, no matter how old they are, will always be good. The quality of a song is not in any way related to the time it was released. I hope I won’t meet people who think otherwise.
we told you so fuckers
"they’re going to be a one-hit wonder"
aND LOOK WHERE THEY ARE NOW, IM SO PROUD
IM SO GLAD PEOPLE CAN APPRECIATE THEM FOR MORE THAN MR. BRIGHTSIDE COZ THEY ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT
This performance give me chills & chills x12 and it makes me cry & so proud to be a victim & IcantLivewithOUTthisbandd.
I love this performance so much because it oozes so much passion and you can tell they’re so incredibly proud of this song, and I am so incredibly proud of them.
This post is so damn beautiful, I can’t understand how not more people see the true awesomeness behind The Killers!! Everyone of us has a personal story that connects him/her to the songs and that’s by far more than most artists can offer.
Remember when Brandon used to have a sassy hair?
that hair, that’s all I can say sigh
